My Own Words is run by Gia, a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist (CPSP) based in the Inner West of Sydney. Gia graduated from the University of Sydney with Class I honours for her research into telehealth speech, language, and literacy assessments for children aged 3 - 8.

Since graduating Gia has worked in private practice and in the Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) sector working with a broad range of clients from preschool to aged care. Gia has experience working with NDIS clients, particularly those with complex disabilities. Gia has completed additional training in the Hanen It Takes Two To Talk method for early language therapy, and the SoundsWrite method for literacy.

Gia is also a passionate reader and achieved a Band 6 in HSC Advanced English, achieving an overall ATAR of 99.30. Gia worked as an English and History tutor from 2018 - 2021 and has developed a passion for combining the principles of speech pathology with tutoring techniques to help students with their verbal and written communication.
